Is the new L'Oreal Paris Lumi Le Glow Skin Tint Worth the Hype?
I road tested L'Oreal Paris Lumi Le Glow Skin Tint for a few weeks. Do I love it or hate it?
Hi, my name is PJ, and I am a beauty junkie. I have so many saved product reviews on social media that I could start my own account. I own so many beauty and skin care products, I had to buy a closet to store them in. Yes, you get the idea…I see a new product, so I MUST try it.
I’m also not in my 20s, so my beauty and skin care needs and wants are, shall we say, different from the average zelleninal or millennial. I want my beauty products to multitask. I want hydration, I want coverage, and, if I can get it, a few blurred fine lines.
I have fine lines. I laugh a lot, and loudly. I have a mobile face. The fine lines near my eyes mean that I have a good sense of humor — they’re called laugh lines for a reason.
I’m not looking for makeup to turn me into a raving beauty. On a good day I’m okay looking. Honestly, my looks are more jolie laide than tres jolie. Trust me, I’m not crying into my primer. I know what I see in the mirror.
Returning to the subject at hand: L’Oreal Paris Lumi Le Glow SkinTint. I heard that it is a practically weightless skin tint that evens out skin tones, blurs fine lines, and is a combination illuminator, primer, and foundation—all for under $20. Heck, sign me up!
L’Oreal Paris Lumi Le Glow SkinTint comes in 16 shades. It can be found at Amazon Ulta stores nationwide, Ulta.com, Target online and in brick-and-mortar, and wherever you find L’Oreal Paris products.
My complexion versus L’Oreal Paris Lumi Le Glow Skin Tint
My complexion is fair olive with red undertones, so I have difficulty finding a base that works for me. I blindly chose the L’Oreal Paris Lumi Le Glow Skin Tint in 120/Neutral. I was very happily surprised to find that it works with my skin tone.
Is L’Oreal Paris Lumi Le Glow Skin Tint a dupe?
My first thought regarding the application was that L’Oreal Paris Lumi Le Glow Skin Tint reminded me of Ilia’s Super Serum Tint SPF40 Skincare Foundation. The texture and finish are remarkably similar. What is different? The price tag for one thing. Ilia’s tinted foundation is $48 at Sephora, while L’Oreal is priced at $13.97 on Amazon. It was easier for me to match my skin tone to the L’Oreal product than Ilia’s. No cap. I also preferred L’Oreal’s finish to Ilia’s.
What does the skin tint do?
L’Oreal Paris Lumi Le Glow Skin Tint blends easily because it contains 82% hydrating serum and has a water-based formula. The product is supposed to blur fine lines and even skin tone with reflective pearls and blurring pigments incorporated into its formula.
How L’Oreal Paris Le Glow Skin Tint worked for me
I was impressed the first time I tried it. After my initial application, my complexion looked healthy and had a natural-looking glow. I could wear it without any other makeup product, as it makes me look like me, just a tad better.
I played around with the L’Oreal product. I wore it with makeup, under a foundation, and tried it as an illuminator. In each case, it worked well.
These photos tell a story:
Here’s a photo of me without any makeup on. I know I have “resting assassin face.”

Here I am with a full face of makeup. I applied the L’Oreal product under a matte foundation for added glow.
Here I am after a full face of makeup. I used the L’Oreal product as my makeup base. The look is natural, refreshed with a hint of glow.

I took this selfie on the street around noon. I used the same face and products as above, but I was in bright sunlight. Did you notice that my skin has a nice, healthy glow? My skin tone is even, too. Did I expect the product to make all my lines go away? No, not really. Look, the only way my face will not show any lines is if I don’t move a muscle, which is silly!
